I carved the figure of the stump of 30 years ago into it with the annual rings for 33 years. An inner core is a figure of the stump which the seed budded and passed for three years.
This stock had spread the thick root on all sides.
I thought that I would like to leave the state into a work. Therefore, I kept the root long.
I thought that the root was straight extended on all sides from the center before I carve this stump.
However, the root had bent complicatedly in fact. The carved root is telling the complexity.
In the exhibition, I could show the core for the 3rd year and the surface for the 33rd year at the same time because I place a work on a mirror (Stainless Steel).
